Welcome to “koté coffee,” where each bean tells a story, and every sip embarks on a unique journey.
Growing up in the beautiful village of Kote in Udupi, Karnataka, Prashant fell in love with coffee during a family trip to Coorg. He started wondering about how different types of coffee beans and the way they’re roasted, can change the smell and taste of coffee.
But what got Prashant into coffee was waking up to the aroma of coffee at home, brewed by his mom. The unique smell of freshly ground coffee beans was something he couldn’t forget. It made him interested in coffee, which turned into a passion.
Prashant’s profound affection for coffee propelled him on a journey that transcended borders. He explored coffee-growing countries like Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru in pursuit of the perfect coffee bean. In Brazil, he discovered his coffee paradise on a farm in Capelinha, Minas Gerais, where he immersed himself in every aspect of coffee production, from planting to roasting. He delved into the rich coffee culture in Colombia, gaining invaluable insights.
Today, Prashant is the proud owner of koté coffee, a brand that encapsulates his journey, passion, and his hometown’s enduring coffee heritage. At koté coffee, we transcend the realm of a mere coffee shop; we are a narrative, a voyage, and a tribute to the aromatic universe of coffee.
In 1987, Socafe was born to provide the local restaurant industry with the finest coffee worldwide. Today, Socafe is an integral part of koté coffee, still driven by the same passion for excellence. Our legacy began with roasting and grinding coffee on-site, ensuring unparalleled freshness and exquisite flavor. The Socafe name became synonymous with gourmet coffee and espresso.
